The executive president of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitiev, indicated that there may be progress in negotiations between Russia and the United States within the next two or three months.
The statement was made in a context of ongoing bilateral discussions, focused on economic and investment issues, although Dmitiev highlighted the presence of a political component in the negotiations.
In a recent interview, Dmitiev stated that although it was not possible to reveal specific details, there are “very important clues in the economy” that can contribute to the advancement of conversations between the two countries.
He stressed that his work is focused on economic and investment issues, not for political affairs. According to Dmitiev, there are “a series of proposals” being considered by the parties involved, which offers hope that progress can be made in a short period.
“We cannot reveal details. All I can say is that we have a very important track in the economy. And clearly there is a political issue. I am not dealing with political issues, but with economic and investment issues. We have a number of proposals in which our colleagues are thinking. I believe progress can be achieved there, not in the long run, but for the next two or three months, ”said Dmitiev.
Dmitiev’s statements occurred at a time of intensification of negotiations between Russian and American delegations, which are meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
During these conversations, both sides are expected to discuss the recovery of bilateral relations, as well as addressing topics such as the agreement on the situation in Ukraine and meeting a meeting between the leaders of both countries.
The meeting in Riyadh aims to prepare the terrain for deeper discussions about the relations between the two nations, focusing on how to improve economic ties and deal with global challenges.
The meeting will also include debates about the role of Russia and the United States in resolving the conflict in Ukraine, as well as possible agreements that can be signed to relieve diplomatic tensions.
Although the political situation between the two countries remains tense, the emphasis of ongoing conversations is focused on the economic area, focusing on investments and exchange of proposals.
Dmitiev, in turn, pointed out that progress in these areas should not be seen as something in the long run, but as a possibility of advancement in the coming months.
It is expected that, in the next two or three months, negotiations can advance more significantly, with a possible agreement that helps improve the economic environment between the two nations. However, discussions are still in their early stages and any advance will depend on the political decisions that will take place in the coming weeks.
The scenario of global political and economic uncertainty continues to challenge leaders from various nations, including Russia and the United States, who seek ways to deal with the challenges that arise from the international conjuncture.
