On Wednesday 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed participants of the 12th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.
During the opening, Putin highlighted the Russian presidency of the BRICS and emphasized the search for effective legal regulations that strengthen food and energy security, protect the environment and promote trade and global technological cooperation.
The Russian leader expressed Russia’s readiness to expand cooperation with countries in Asia-Pacific, Africa and Latin America.
Putin ended his speech by wishing for productive dialogue and fruitful work for the event, which has been considered an important platform for discussion between the legal, business, political and judicial communities since its creation in 2011 by the Russian Ministry of Justice and the Roscongress fund.
