The government continues to show that the anti-caste narrative was only a campaign pose. In love with power and positions, those who used to rant on Twitter now celebrate with fancy dinners having vetoed a miserable increase for retirees, appoint relatives in the State, create positions that did not exist before and increase their salaries at every opportunity they have.

The novelty in this case is Manuel Adorni, the presidential spokesman, who, as of the officialization of decree 834/2024, will become the head of the Brand new Secretariat of Communication and Mediaan organization that did not exist until today and that will report directly to Javier Milei. In this way, the spokesperson will no longer depend on the General Secretariat of the Presidency headed by Karina Milei and will have the rank and hierarchy of a minister.

The text of the decree states that “for management reasons it is convenient to incorporate the SECRETARIAT OF COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA as a Secretariat of the PRESIDENCY OF THE NATION.” And establishes that from now on there will be six presidential secretariats:

  • 1. General, by Karina Milei
  • 2. Legal and Technical, by Javier Herrera Bravo
  • 3. Regulatory Strategic Planning, by María Ibarzabal Murphy
  • 4. Press, by Eduardo Serenellini
  • 5. State Intelligence, by Sergio Neiffert
  • 6. Communication and Media, by Manuel Adorni.

The new Secretariat will generate an increase of more than one million pesos to what he receives monthly, which will end up rounding out a total of 5 million. A sum equivalent to 22 minimum pensions, which barely reached the sum of $234,540.23 in SeptemberAn obscene mockery of someone who took advantage of his day to make it clear that he did not mind the barbecue with which Milei and the “rats” of the deputies who accompanied him celebrated the veto of the increase of $17 thousand for retirees.

It is worth remembering that the current It is Adorni’s second ascent this yearsince he had previously been promoted to the rank of Secretary of State. A round business for which he does not have to give explanations, and which is added to other unclear things such as appointments of his relatives in different areas of the State. His brother Francisco, landed in February in the Ministry of Defense and in April was promoted as head of the Internal Audit Unit of that same ministry. Or the hiring in his area that far exceed others: without going any further, he heads seven national directorates, 14 simple directorates and 16 coordinations, appointed 100 people since the government began and uses monthly resources of $132,500,000 without counting additional or overtime hours. A gigantic structure that depends exclusively on him.

In the end, what bothered them was not the caste, but the fact of not being part of it.
