On a powder keg of poverty, a party is unfolding. The markets they saw her. They read a sequence of news and said “this is ours,” to give free rein to speculative businesses.

Lovers as they are from the movie libertarianthey had until now – and in part they still have – some doubts about the script. They always valued the intentions, but the weaknesses of origin and the uncertain political muscles to steer the ship made them hesitate. The legislative political defeats that the ruling party had not so long ago, the internal showbiz of Freedom Advances or the comings and goings with Macrism, fed back with a delicate social situation and an economy navigating in precariousness so that doubts prevail more than certainties.

Today – at least for a while – they opened a loan to the government and choose to believe. The ruling party and its caste of friends in the National Congress They gave them as an offering the veto of retirees and university financingas proof of loyalty and unconditional love towards adjustment and financial capital. And, above all, as a sample that seeks to give the idea that despite being a minority in both chambers, Freedom Advances could manage to maintain the promised course.

They also chained those tests with gifts. Extremely generous money laundering; an exchange market, inflation and interest rates oiled for the financial bicycle; and a slight rebound in the Central Bank’s reserves, which have been rising from the tenth underground. These elements were combined with loan announcements from the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank, as well as promises of financing through Repo, so that The markets want to believe that there are good prospects for meeting the very large debt payments in the coming months and lose their inhibitions to indulge in the celebration of speculation. Country risk, bonds, stocks, all the indicators of the wolves of Wall Street and their local friends, are positive these days.

The duration of the party, however, is not scheduled. While they get drunk carry tradethere are many who know that we will have to take advantage of it while it lasts, because there are still too many things to resolve. An external shock, a reversal of capital flow, an insufficient amount of foreign currency to simultaneously support the exit from the recession and debt payments, a political crisis or divisions between those at the top over issues that are still open – such as the uprising of the stocks or the devaluation demanded by the IMF and other actors – could be signals that at some point indicate that it is time to end the business. They also know Luis Caputo: although under different conditions – now there are stocks – this same official was the one who encouraged a speculative party – with a beginning and an end – during the Macri government.

He black swan What ends the party, however, can also come from the class struggle. Confident in two or three tactical triumphs of the government, the forces of financial capital may underestimate that Their revelry takes place on a tinderbox of 52% poverty which includes all those aggrieved by an endless adjustment plan and the consequences of the policies of previous governments. The financial numbers contrast with the huge drop in domestic consumption (which in turn foreshadows possible divisions within the ruling classes). In August, for example, purchases in supermarkets were 10.1% less than in the same month of the previous year. On the other hand, within the elite The largest companies listed on the Stock Exchange quintupled their profits in the last year, according to a report from the Institute of Thought and Public Policies (IPYPP), led by former deputy Claudio Lozano.

In this framework, not even the bureaucracies of the CGT and the CTA, of the social movements or of the university regime can prevent the emergence of a growing conflict that threatens to go beyond what they would like.

In the universidadAfter the veto and against the cliques that want to lead and divert everything towards the porting of the 2025 budget in the National Congress, a powerful movement of national extension emerged with massive mobilizations in some cities, seizures of powers, assemblies and coordination bodies which, beyond the struggle itself, expresses the political emergence of a new generation and acts as a sounding board that anticipates and amplifies the contradictions of a society subjected to a deep and long crisis for years.

Beyond its possible ebbs and flows, this movement already shows enormous potential as a subject of struggle that is at the same time intertwined with the working class -by hundreds of thousands of students who work or are children of working families-. There are multiple anecdotes that tell of the great sympathy that the university movement has been causing in factories, schools, hospitals and different establishments. “Workers’ University” is an increasingly popular cry.

Starting this Wednesday we will also see renewed actions by important sectors of the working class. The transport strike – without the UTA, which divides and betrays, avoiding what would be almost a general strike with its participation – aims to be an important action that will also be joined by students, retirees, social movements and teaching and business sectors. state, and is also strengthened by ongoing struggles such as those of health in the Bonaparte Hospital, Garrahan, Posadas, that of the AFIP workers, that of Córdoba against layoffs in petrochemicals in Río Tercero, as well as many others in different places in the country, which are also combined with a new spirit that is hinted at in the elections of delegates in different internal commissions.

From the combative and leftist sectors, demands are made in any case from the union leaders who call for these measures – in many unions without mobilization and without serious preparation assemblies in the workplace -, that democratic bodies be convened to discuss how to continue the fight and how to coordinate between all sectors, so that what happened this Wednesday is not an isolated measure but part of a plan of struggle with continuity to defeat the plans of Milei and the businessmen. At the same time, the obscene location of the majority sectors of the CGT aligned with Héctor Daer, who are in total collaboration with the Milei government, is denounced.

It remains to be seen if the bus stoppage for Thursday. With UTA you never know. What is certain is that in the coming days there will also be new university actionssuch as a cut announced at the Obelisk for Friday, while a new federal educational march is demanded for November 12, all of which together reflects a new state of mind that has its expression in the streets.

Different policies emerge in this scenario. The political regime is focused on preparing for the 2025 legislative elections. While the ruling party tries to arrive in the best possible conditions – given the unpopularity of its policies – and discusses a possible alliance with the PRO, other scattered sectors – such as the UCR that crosses its own divisions, “pichettismo” or “larretismo” – they try to create a new “center” space.

However, The note in recent days was given above all by the leadership of Peronismwhich is involved in an internal party completely removed from the interests of the popular sectors, only settling power quotas. While from Ricardo Quintela’s sector his representative Jorge Yoma made a controversial visit to Casa Rosada, presumably in search of support, it is also true that Cristina Kirchner’s lists are full of reactionary characters such as Juan Manzur, Felipe Solá, Julián Domínguez or Ricardo Pignanelli, and that Kirchnerism has even claimed Javier Milei’s veto power as legitimate, when the truth is that it is a completely undemocratic mechanism against which tens of thousands are fighting. For his part, Axel Kicillof – with his comings and goings – is immersed in his own contradictions regarding how to sustain his highly anticipated candidacy towards 2027 for many years, and Juan Grabois aligned himself with the candidacy of the former president. They all have in common turning their backs on a solution to adjustment today, promoting resistance through class struggle, and the absence of a program that can offer something different from what was already the failure of the last Peronist government.

Quite the contrary, from the PTS and the Frente de Izquierda Unidad, together with a great activity of political agitation proposing another program to exit the crisis, propaganda and socialist debates promoted from public references, social networks, days of discussion and all posts powered by our growing media system, everything is bet on the confluence with the thousands of workers and students who are going out to fightfrom a perspective of do not trade or speculatebut to overcome the bureaucracies and defeat Milei’s plan today. This is attested to by the great presence of the PTS in the faculties and workplaces where there is struggle throughout the country, contributing to the organization from the bases against the bureaucracies to deploy all forces, fighting to coordinate the sectors in struggle and offering the debate for a proposal for the crisis to be paid for by large businessmen.

This location is given under the conviction that the articulation of forces from below, prefiguring the alliance between workers and students as in the best traditions of Cordobazo, and in a context of enormous social discontent that contrasts with the celebration of those from above, can impose a plan of struggle that can defeat the liberal experiment, on the path of the general strike and the construction of a socialist and revolutionary alternative to turn history around.
