This Friday, December 27, the workers of the Human Rights Secretariat hug the former ESMA as the first step in the fight against the dismissals of thousands of workers and the consequent closure of the Sites of Memory that the Milei government and Villaruel tries to carry on.

Since Thursday the 26th, dismissal telegrams began to arrive, thus confirming the threats made by executives of the portfolio led by Cuneo Libarona. This attack is in addition to the 2,400 dismissals from the contracts of the collection entities (ACARA) and the salary reduction of more than 1,500 permanent staff workers by 70%.

Against this denialist attack on the historic banners of the fight for human rights, an arc of solidarity has been opened by neighborhood assemblies, workers from other sectors, human rights organizations, such as HIJOS, assemblies such as NiUnaMenos, student centers and university youth leaders, legislators and deputies who accompany this mobilization.

Like the workers of the Bonaparte Hospital, from below, they organized themselves and did not hesitate for a minute to stand up to fight. And like those doctors, administrators, psychologists, etc. who rejected the closure, the fight for memory aroused immense solidarity from social, political, and union organizations, leaders from different areas, delegations from neighborhood assemblies, and representatives from student centers.

Legislators and deputies from different sectors accompany the mobilization. There are the leaders of the PTS in the FIT-U Myriam Bregman and Alejandrina Barry, a historical human rights fighter. The Mothers and Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo could not be missing on the day that grandson 138 was restored. From the women’s movement Andrea D’Atri and Claudia Korol.
