More than 60% of United States citizens expressed disapproval of the country’s current president, Joe Biden, according to a survey conducted by the television network CNN.

“According to the survey, 60% of Americans disapprove of the Biden government, while 40% approve,” the outlet reported, highlighting that the results are almost identical to those of the previous year.

The survey, carried out between April 18th and 23rd, covered 1,212 people of legal age, with a statistical margin of error of 3.4%.

When it comes to Biden’s approach to dealing with the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, only 28% of respondents expressed support, compared to 71% who expressed opposition.

Approval rates also remain low in the area of the economy: only 34% approve of Biden’s policy in this area, while 70% consider economic conditions in the US to be bad.

In relation to former US President Donald Trump (2017-2021), the survey revealed that 55% of respondents consider his presidency a “success”, while 44% classify it as a “failure”.

Biden’s approval may fall among younger people

According to information released in a Bloomberg report, Biden’s approval rating could decrease in the coming weeks, especially among younger people, after the country approved the suspension of TikTok.

Last week, the president signed into law a law that forces the app’s parent company, Beijing-based ByteDance Ltd, to sell its stake by the end of the year, otherwise the video platform will be banned from the US app store. .

The new law, the report points out, will likely alienate younger voters, who are often crucial to Democratic electoral victories. “Many are no longer excited about Biden’s re-election,” noted the US agency.
