Millions of crypto holders get free cardanos ‘night’ token

Midnight Network, a new privacy-oriented blockchain that runs on the cardano infrastructure, has big plans with its AirDrop. A total of 24 billion night tokens are distributed via the so -called Glacier Drop. For example, millions of crypto investors are awarded the long-awaited Night token around the world.

In the official document, the economic structure behind the project is unveiled, also known as the Tokenomics. This shows that users of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), Solana (SOL), Avalanche (Avax), BNB Chain (BNB) and Cardano (ADA) all have a chance to receive free tokens. The requirement is that on June 11, 2025 you have to have at least 100 dollars (or just over 86 euros) on crypto on one of these block chains.

It concerns a total of 24 billion night tokens that are all made available. A small comment: all tokens are first “frozen” (locked) via a smart contract on Cardano. They then gradually defrost (vests) in steps of 25 percent every 90 days, over a 360 -day period. So you can claim from the beginning, but only use or trade part at the same time.

For those who have a chance, you have to pay attention. Because unlike many other airdrops, you have 60 days here to claim your Night tokens. This claim period starts in July and will last until the coming August.

It is striking that the airdrop takes place so big on almost all major networks. Midnight is a Sidechain from Cardano. Ada owners do get priority. The white paper shows that 50 percent of the total supply, so 12 billion night tokens, goes to this group. 20 percent are distributed among BTC owners, and the remaining 30 percent goes to a mix of other projects.

If you do not yet know the project, you will probably wonder what Midnight is. And why should these Night tokens be interesting? The Midnight Network is a blockchain that focuses primarily on privacy. Through complex technology, called zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPS), the Smart Contracts can perform without making certain data public.

This can offer a solution for countless applications. For example, medical records are mentioned in the white paper. Suppose you want to store it on the blockchain, but want to keep certain patient data secret, then Midnight offers a solution for that.

Night plays a role in the Governance of the Network, among other things. Holders of the token can vote on network proposals. In addition, with this crypto currency, users can generate a different token on the Midnight network, called Dust. This acts as fuel for transactions and smart contracts. Compare it to how EHH and ADA are used as ‘gas’ on Ethereum and Cardano respectively.
