More than 100 criminal complaints have already been registered against Milei for the scam with cryptocurrency. The case is aggravated and an impeachment request will be submitted
Argentina President Javier Milei is at the center of a series of scandal -related court accusations involving the $ Libra cryptocurrency. By this Sunday, 112 criminal complaints had been filed against him, including suspicions of fraud, illicit practices during office, violation of ethical principles and criminal association.
Complaints accumulate
According to sources of the judiciary, 111 of these complaints were digitally recorded in courts around the country, while one was in person in person in a police station in the capital, Buenos Aires, as highlighted by Telesur. The case was referred to prosecutor Guillermo Marijuan for initial analysis.
On Monday (17), the courts are expected to hold a draw to determine which federal instance will be responsible for conducting investigations into the more than 100 complaints filed.
Collective Action in Justice
Juan Grabois, leader of the Homeland Grande Front, has announced that he will support a collective action in the civil sphere against Milei, seeking financial reparation for those harmed by the alleged fraudulent scheme. According to Grabois, more than 20 victims have already joined the initiative, which will be moved in both Argentina and the United States.
“What we need to demonstrate is that we are not afraid,” said Grabois. “Fear spreads, but courage too. If we do not face this situation, they will continue to commit endless abuse. ”
The accusations against Milei departed from both people directly affected by the coup as well as political opposition figures, who argue that the president played an active role in the scheme. A central point of the evidence presented is the fact that Milei promoted cryptocurrency investments just three minutes after its public release, through a publication on its social networks.
For the complainants, the justification that Milei would have made only one “error” out of enthusiasm does not convince. They also emphasize the direct ties between the creators of $ Libra and members of the political group led by the president, La Libertad Avanza.
In this context, Deputy Itai Hagman stated that he will also submit a criminal complaint against Milei, accusing him of making illicit negotiations during the exercise of his position, arguing that the president acted for his own benefit or third parties.
Another relevant name in the judicial offensive against Milei is lawyer Gregorio Dalbón, known for representing former President Cristina Fernández, who signed one of the more than 100 reports already registered. Dalbón rejected Milei’s claim that he was unaware of the project details and emphasized that the president publicly promoted at $ Libra at the exact moment of its launch.
Impeachment request
The scandal has gained even greater political proportions. The Union Parliamentary Block for the Fatherland (UXP) has announced that it will file a formal impeachment request against Milei. Deputy Esteban Paulo, representative of the province of Santa Fe, confirmed that he will submit the request next Monday, reinforcing the accusations against the president in the case of the alleged mega blow involving the cryptocurrency $ Libra.
The crisis generated by the case is already beginning to impact Milei’s administration, significantly increasing the political and legal pressure on his government.
