This new rate comes in a context where inflation remains high at relative levels while salaries continue to lose purchasing power. While large businessmen and energy distributors they keep filling their pocketsthe working people are the ones who pay the price. The Government of Javier Miley and his Minister of Economy Luis “Toto” Caputofar from taking measures to protect those who have the least, continues to prioritize the interests of companies and adjust to the popular sectors.

The news was officially confirmed and is already generating worry among those who have to juggle every month to make ends meet. The increase will have a full impact on the November ballots, adding to the long list of increases that have been punishing the working class and the most vulnerable sectors. Starting this Saturday, traveling by public transport will be more expensive: subways, buses and tolls increase their rates.

The gas increase was made official by the Government through the Resolution 1698/2025published in the Official Gazettewhere it is detailed that the surcharge established in article 75 of law 25,565 and its modifications will be 7.20% on the price of natural gas in it Point of Entry to the Transportation System (PIST)for each cubic meter of 9,300 kilocalories that enters the pipeline system throughout the country.

Companies that sell gas must transfer this surcharge directly to the price of the natural gas they buy in the RUNWAYwhich inevitably will impact the pockets of those who use public transportation and other services that depend on this input. There will also probably be a transfer to the price of goods that are produced or transported using that fuel.

On the other hand, the Resolution 433/2025 also published in the Official Gazetteestablishes a modification in the price of natural gas in the RUNWAY. The regulations require Enarsa to the producing companies and the distributors or subdistributors of natural gas that have signed agreements under the Plan Gas.Arto adjust their contracts within a maximum period of time from the publication of the resolution.
