Russian Security Council vice president Dmitry Medvedev said Washington will resume weapon shipments to Ukraine as soon as a rare land agreement is signed between the two countries.

Medvedev commented on the matter on his VKontakte page, noting that, according to information from the US Congress, President Donald Trump had received a letter of repentance from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, in which he was willing to start peace negotiations under US leadership and signing an agreement related to the rare land of Ukraine.

Medvedev stated that with the signing of the agreement, US arms deliveries to Ukraine would be resumed. He also mentioned that, in addition to the suspension of US arms shipments, European countries had already increased their own military supplies to Ukraine.

Previously, a Pentagon spokesman had informed the TASS agency that the United States had suspended the delivery of military aid to Ukraine.

The measure affected the sending of US military equipment that were not yet in Ukrainian territory, including weapons that were being transported by air and maritime and waiting for additional shipping to Poland traffic zones, as reported by Bloomberg.

The suspension of military aid deliveries occurs amid a statement by Trump, who, speaking to Congress, said he received a letter from Zelensky, in which the Ukrainian President pledged to negotiate peace of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Zelensky would also have expressed his willingness to sign the agreement on Ukrainian rare lands, a theme that had been previously suspended due to a diplomatic dispute between Trump and Zelensky during a White House meeting.

These movements reflect a critical point in relations between the US and Ukraine, especially regarding the supply of weapons and economic interests related to the reserves of rare lands of the European country.

The situation remains developing, with the parties involved seeking a resolution involving both the stabilization of conflict and the exploitation of natural resources important to the global economy.
