In a live broadcast on State TV last Monday, the president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduroannounced the uninstallation of the application WhatsApp from your cell phone, claiming that the service is being used to destabilize your government.

During the announcement, Maduro stated that he will migrate his contacts to the Telegram and the WeChatciting the need for “say no to WhatsApp” and remove it from use in Venezuela.

Maduro accused WhatsApp of contributing to threats received by military officials, police and Chavista leaders, especially regarding the lack of transparency in the recent presidential elections.

He also alleged that the app had shared information with Colombian entities and imperialist forces to attack Venezuela.

The political crisis deepens in the country, with the opposition led by Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia e Maria Corina Machadochallenging the election results announced by National Electoral Councilwhich is controlled by Chavistas.

González e Machado issued an open letter requesting that the Armed forces recognize González as the president-elect, heightening tensions after the vote.
