Tel Aviv re-established the blockade at the entry of humanitarian aid in Gaza after the unilateral collapse of a US-sponsored ceasefire agreement
The World Food Program (PMA) announced on March 5 that it has sufficient food supplies in the Gaza range to maintain open kitchens and bakeries for less than two weeks, due to Israeli blockade to enter food, fuel, drugs and other essential supplies.
In addition, essential supplies would have risen more than 100% after the new Israeli blockade, making food essential inaccessible to most survivors of US and Israel genocide.
After an ethnic cleaning campaign that lasted more than 16 months, the population of Gaza depends entirely on food and other aids sent by truck.
From the beginning of a US-sponsored ceasefire on January 19 to last weekend, Israel has allowed a constant flow of humanitarian aid to enter the enclave. However, authorities repeatedly violated the terms of the agreement, making deadly attacks and constantly preventing the entry of essential supplies, including thousands of tents and mobile houses.
UNICEF has warned that the suspension of aid for Gaza will have “catastrophic consequences” for children and Palestinian families on the brink of survival.
“The aid restrictions announced yesterday will severely compromise civilian rescue operations,” said Edouard Beigber, Unicef’s regional director for West Asia on Tuesday. “It is imperative that the ceasefire, a board of critical salvation for children, remains in force and that help can flow freely so that we can continue to increase the humanitarian response.”
According to Shaina Low, communications consultant at Norwegian Refugee Council, help delivered during the first phase of ceasefire “was not enough to meet all needs.” “If it was enough, we would not have children dying of exposure due to lack of shelter materials, hot clothes and appropriate medical equipment to treat them,” she said.
The Regional Crisis Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration, Karl Baker, recently revealed that the NGO has 22,500 tents in its warehouses in Jordan, after supply trucks brought back their unresited cargo.
Other humanitarian agencies say there are tens of thousands of pounds in food, medicine, medical supplies, mattresses and assistance devices for people with disabilities waiting to get into Gaza.
“Preventing food in Gaza is a continuation of the use of hunger by Israel as a weapon of war, as part of the in progress campaign of what the TIJ considered to be a plausible genocide against the Palestinian people,” South African Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday, referring to the case against Israel in the International Court (TIJ).
“The people of Gaza are undergoing immeasurable suffering and urgently need food, shelter and medical supplies. South Africa appeals to the international community to blame Israel, ”he added.
The rapid deterioration of the situation within Gaza occurs as US President Donald Trump reinforces his Palestinian track ethnic cleaning plan, rejecting an Arabia scheme that would make Hamas give up the Gaza government before $ 53 billion to rebuild the track – without moving the Palestinians forcibly.
