As Luca Bonfante denounces the night and the police take many protesters.

Update 19:50 h el Cairo

Official statement

There are now reports for the use of force against participants, some of whom have been arrested, harassed, physically and deported …

Hundreds of peaceful international participants from Gaza Gaza remain in Limbo while negotiations with the Egyptian authorities continue. The group, consisting of people from more than 80 countries, expected to be transferred safe and except Cairo and their passports were returned.

However, if people are taken to the airport for deportation under false pretexts, participants are prepared to start a peaceful and non -violent protest in response.

In case of this result:

The address of the march will begin a hunger strike.

Others are also prepared to join in solidarity, rejecting food as a form of peaceful resistance.

This is a moral response to deception or suppression of your right to meet and manifest peacefully for Gaza. This group of civilians – humanitarians, educators, artists, doctors and organizers – has joined in peaceful solidarity, seeking to march from Cairo to Gaza to demand the end of the siege, the openness to humanitarian aid and the end of the genocide.

We call on the international community, the media and embassies to close this situation and press Egypt to break the situation, given our common goal.

Despite the increase in repression, we affirm:

We are peaceful.
We are global.

We will not be silenced.

The siege of Gaza and Palestine must end.

Participants in the global march to Gaza will meet today peacefully in a camp outside Cairo, continuing with the preparations for a historical and peaceful action to end the siege of Palestine and ask for the opening of a humanitarian corridor through Rafah.

We have not received formal authorization to start the march. However, we remain fully committed to coordinating with the Egyptian authorities and follow all the communication channels to guarantee legal fulfillment. Our intention is not to challenge the law, but to work according to it.

This peaceful concentration includes medical, parliamentarians, lawyers and humanitarian professionals from more than 80 countries that have met with a unified message: the blockade must end
and humanitarian aid must flow freely towards the people of Palestine.

We continue to urge the Egyptian government to allow this peaceful march, which aligns with the declared commitment to restore stability at its border and address the current crisis in Gaza.
