Judge Juan Carlos Peinado, who has been investigating Begoña Gómez for more than a year, has claimed to the presidency of the Government to give him a copy of all the messages that Pedro Sánchez’s wife received and sent from his official mail between July 11, 2018 and until today to be analyzed by agents of the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard. This is stated in a car dated Wednesday, which has had access eldiario.es.
Last August, the judge asked the presidency of the Government to clarify whether Begoña Gómez made use of “an official email of @Presidency.gob.es” for his efforts in the chair he directed at the Complutense University. The magistrate adopted this decision at the request of popular accusations, which suggest that Sánchez’s wife could have used the mail “[email protected]” for their private businesses.
Now, the magistrate uses the response of the government’s presidency to agree on new proceedings in another of the ramifications of the case: the one that investigates in an alleged embezzlement in relation to the tasks of the Moncloa advisor who coordinates the Begoña Gómez agenda. In fact, the magistrate claims the emails since July 11, 2018, which was the date of the appointment of his assistant Cristina Álvarez.
The magistrate deepened in that line of investigation supported by Vox, which in December presented a complaint that was based on the existence of two emails that the assistant sent in 2021 on behalf of Begoña Gómez to directives of Reale, insurer who financed the chair of the Complutense.
In the resolution of this September 3, the judge also asks the Moncloa to indicate the name of the “different people” who have been holding the position of Secretary General of the Government’s presidency that the advisor was appointed, as well as that the person responsible for “authorizing and ordering” the payment of the salary of the advisor is identified.
Last August, the magistrate agreed to expand the payroll of crimes attributed to Pedro Sánchez’s wife, to which he added the crime of embezzlement in relation to the Moncloa advisor, also charged. Hairstyle decided to investigate both for that crime three months after expressly and without justifying its change in criteria.
In fact, he has summoned them to declare on September 10. At first, Hajinado had summoned Begoña Gómez for the 11th, but his lawyer asked to delay the statement since he had another signal.
