International Association of Genocide Scholars, the main association of genocide scholars in the world, says that Israel is guilty of “crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide”

The main world association of genocide scholars says that Israel met legal criteria for crime during his continuous attack in Gaza.

The president of the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) said on Monday that his organization approved a resolution stating that Israel “involved in systematic and widespread crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide.”

Eighty -six percent of those who voted among the 500 members of the International Genocide Scholars Association supported the resolution, which asks Israel to “immediately cease all acts that constitute genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity against Palestinians in Gaza.”

There was no immediate response from Israel, who is fighting a case at the International Court of Justice in The Hague that accuses him of genocide.

More than 63,557 Palestinians were killed and 160,660 were injured in Gaza since October 2023, when Israel launched their war in Gaza, leading the population to a catastrophic humanitarian crisis.

At least 34 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since Monday dawn, Al Jazeera said. The number includes 19 in the city of Gaza and seven people looking for help.

Previously, eight Palestinians were killed when Israel led air attacks against houses in the Al-Nafaq area and the Al-Shati refugee camp in the city of Gaza.

Last month, hunger was officially declared in Gaza after months of severe food shortages imposed by Israel.

At least 340 people, including 124 children, died of malnutrition during genocide, according to the Ministry of Palestinian Health.

IAGS resolution said the “deliberate destruction of agricultural fields, food warehouses and bakeries and other forms of violence that prevent food production, together with the denial and restriction of humanitarian aid, indicate the intentional imposition of uninhabited conditions, resulting in the hunger of Palestinians in Gaza”.

They added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu endorsed a plan by US President Donald Trump to force all the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, without a right to return, “in which Navi Pillay, head of the UN Inquiry Committee on the busy Palestinian territories, said it equals ethnic cleaning.”

Israel’s actions in Gaza attracted condemnation of human rights groups and governments around the world.

The International Court is investigating Israel for genocide, while Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant face arrest warrants of the International Criminal Court for War Crimes in Gaza.

Last week, Palestine’s main human rights group had more evidence of genocide in Gaza, accusing Israel of trying to annihilate the Palestinians at Enclave.

In a 204 -page report entitled Genocide Voices, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) concluded that Israel committed four of the five acts banned by the 1948 genocide convention, with the intention of destroying Palestinians in Gaza as a group.

The PCHR had already labeled Israel’s conduct in Gaza as a genocide, but Thursday’s report is the apex of the organization’s documentation on genocidal evidence in the last 22 months.

The report, released on Thursday, echoes others from Israeli groups and large international human rights groups that also characterize Israel’s actions in Gaza as a genocide and call measures to prevent the most serious crime according to international law.

Renowned experts in international law and holocaust also told Middle East Eye that Israel’s actions in Gaza meet the legal limit to genocide.
