International pressure is growing for Israel to end its effort to starve millions of Palestinians in Gaza
The so -called Israeli “humanitarian city” project, which should be established in the ruins of the city of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip, was frozen, the Israeli media said.
“There is no decision to go on, and there is no alternative plan. The political summit was sure it was walking to a hostage agreement that included withdrawals in the south of the Gaza Strip, so it seems that they abandoned this initiative – is on hold for now,” a senior security source to Yedioth Ahronoth told.
The project, described as a field of concentration by Palestinian and Israeli media, aimed to force hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to an isolated area near the border with Egypt. Gathering the Palestinians there is seen as a first step towards ethnic Gaza cleaning and forcing millions of Palestinians to flee to foreign countries as refugees.
Instead of fighting Hamas, the Israeli forces in Gaza are concentrating most of their efforts and resources in the demolition of houses, residential buildings and infrastructure to ensure that displaced Palestinians have nowhere to return.
The project “Humanitarian City” had as its initial objective to force about 600,000 Palestinians to settle in an area between the Philadelphia and Morag axes, in the ruins of Rafah.
Military reports estimated that his conclusion would take at least a year, which annoyed the Israeli office.
The decision occurs as Israel continues to severely restrict the help in Gaza, causing the aggravation of hunger and inanition in the region.
The source of security has admitted that Israel has blocked Gaza’s help deliveries since March for internal political reasons, fearing the disintegration of Israelim Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ruling coalition, despite warnings about the damage that would cause the global image of Israel.
Earlier this week, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich expressed his opposition to plans to make the block somewhat flexible. “Not a single grain of wheat will enter Gaza,” he promised.
Over the weekend, the Israeli army announced a series of so -called “humanitarian” measures.
This includes controversial air throws, daily “tactical pauses” limited in fighting, from 10am to 8pm, and opening UN help trains.
Israel has announced the measures in response to the negative reaction against their efforts to starve Palestinians in Gaza, who has intensified in recent days. A growing number of skeletal corpses of corpses circulates online as the number of victims of Israeli block and siege to the Gaza Strip continues to increase.
On Friday, a 5-month-old Palestinian baby who suffered from malnutrition, Zeinab Abu Halib, died in his mother’s arms, while doctors were running out of hospitals to try to treat hungry patients.
The Gaza Ministry of Health announced on Monday that the number of Palestinians who died of hungry induced by Israel in the devastated enclave increased to 147, including 88 children.
