Two new appointments
According to a report from Reuters, David Plouffe has been appointed as a senior advisor for Kamala Harris’ campaign strategy. Plouffe, a former adviser to Barack Obama, also served on the Binance Global Advisory Board. His appointment suggests a potential positive shift in Harris’ approach to crypto.
In addition to Plouffe, Brian Nelson has also been added to Harris’ team. Nelson, a former undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence at the U.S. Treasury Department, was involved in criminal investigations into Binance. Despite this involvement, he is known for his open stance on emerging technologies.

The Crypto Battle with Trump
Overall, the appointments of Plouffe and Nelson are positive. They suggest that Harris is considering a moderate and realistic approach to the crypto sector. This is in stark contrast to Biden’s approach over the past four years, in which the administration seemed to make little effort to accommodate the crypto sector.
Harris’ rival Donald Trump has since come out as a proponent of the crypto industry, even attending the Bitcoin Conference. If Harris is truly willing to accommodate the crypto sector, she could potentially steal American crypto voters away from Trump.
