Is it already too late to buy Bitcoin?

Although Bitcoin dominance is almost back to 60%, more and more analysts are switching to buying altcoins. “Altcoins offer a much better risk/reward ratio than Bitcoin at this point,” said pseudonymous trader Dyme.

It’s too late to buy Bitcoin

Dyme believes that it is now too late to buy Bitcin. “The next 1.5 years is not the time to buy more Bitcoin,” he added in his earlier story.

A survey by Kraken shows that 83.5% of all crypto investors used dollar-cost averaging (DCA) to enter the market. And 59% still use that as their primary way to buy crypto.

The DCA strategy simply means that you regularly put a specific amount of money into a financial asset. The idea is that you purchase both the tops and the bottoms, and ultimately end up with an average purchase price.

For Bitcoin, this has so far been a fantastic strategy for the average investor, but according to Dyme it is now a better idea to buy altcoins.

Altcoins better than Bitcoin?

However, it remains to be seen whether altcoins will perform better than Bitcoin. There will certainly be a few that will outperform the largest coin on the market, but that does not mean that it is a better strategy to bet on altcoins.

Why not? Because you don’t know at all which coins will do well later. This is often “determined” by a group of influencers, or by the people who bribe influencers.

Isn’t it strange that after all those memecoins we suddenly saw a resurgence of 2017-era coins? That we suddenly saw the XRP price stagnate by a factor of 4-5?

Things like that are almost impossible to predict unless you have inside information, and for that reason you could also argue that Bitcoin’s risk/reward ratio is a lot better than for altcoins.
