Israeli helicopters fired more than 11,000 projectiles against “anything that moved” near the separation wall of Gaza on October 7, 2023

A high-level internal investigation into Israeli Army failures on October 7, 2023 reaffirmed that the Air Force received orders to execute Hannibal Directive a few hours after Palestinian resistance in Gaza launched the flood operation of Al-AQSA.

The Hannibal Directive is an ancient Israeli military protocol that aims to prevent the capture of Israeli hostages, even at risk of their lives.

According to the report, around 10:30 am, the Air Force began to shoot “anything that moved” near the Gaza border. At the same time, Israeli pilots were tasked with performing the operation “Damocles Sword”, hitherto unveiled, which focused on “reaching Hamas’s targets inside Gaza”.

By the end of the day, the Air Force carried out 945 attacks in the Gaza area, with helicopters firing 11,000 projectiles against combatants of Hamas and settlers and Israeli soldiers.

According to Israeli media, Air Force commanders “questioned” whether the “Damocles Sword” operation has misused resources that could have helped set up a better defense of the Gaza border on October 7.

Other findings of the investigation indicated that the “denial of commanders had been defeated,” along with “total chaos in the IDF headquarters”, contributed to Tel Aviv’s slow response to the bold Palestinian attack.

“Several IDF sources said that to this day, the head of the Gaza Division, Brigadier General Avi Rosenfeld, may not admit that his forces were completely defeated by Hamas and, certainly, he would not admit that this occurred before 7 am [7 de outubro]Reported O Jerusalem later.

The main army commanders would have trusted Rosenfeld to obtain situational reports about the Gaza envelope for several hours after their forces were already defeated.

“None of his superiors could imagine a situation where Rosenfeld was completely defeated so quickly, and Rosenfeld himself didn’t even recognize how bad his situation was until he called [o comandante da força aérea] Omer Tishler at 9:47 am ”, adds the report, revealing that the Air Force“ did not decide to cover the Israel-Gaza border with air fire until around 10:05 am… and the execution of this ‘Hannibal Directive’ did not start until around 10:30 am ”

When Army Commanders reached “85% awareness of incidents” in southern Israel, most Palestinian combatants had already returned to Gaza with the prisoners to Casket.

Many of the 251 Israeli soldiers and civilians successfully captured were later killed by Israeli air strikes and fire -friendly fire.

“I saw people talking about inquiries with trembling voices, saying, ‘We failed.’ It’s not easy for a commander to say, ‘I failed’ – and in a moment, I will say that about myself too. They explain, assume responsibility, recognize the difficulty, and I am telling you that there is value in this-first of all for the sake of learning, ”Herzi Halevi, the head of the Israeli army staff, said on Thursday.

Other reports of the report state that Tel Avi “dramatically underestimated” Hamas’s abilities and believed that the Palestinian movement was not interested in an extensive confrontation with Israel, despite having information to the contrary.

The army report was released a few weeks after the former Israeli Defense Minister and sought-of-the-sought-of-war criminal, Yoav Gallant, acknowledged that the army used the Hannibal directive to kill Israeli civilians and soldiers during the Al-AQSA flood operation.

Several investigations from The Cradle and other media since October 2023 revealed that a large part of the 1,200 Israelis who died on October 7, 2023 were killed by their army.
