Federal Deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP), also holder of Italian citizenship, is on the run from Brazilian justice and was located in the Veneto region of Italy.

The information was released by the Italian police and passed on to the Brazilian authorities, especially journalist Mirelle Pinheiro, from Metrópoles. Zambelli has been licensed by his mandate since the decree of pre -trial detention by the Supreme Federal Court (STF).

Italian authorities have already started search operations in Veneto in order to arrest the parliamentarian. Zambelli was sentenced to ten years in prison in closed regime and the payment of a fine, for invasion of computerized system and ideological falsehood, in a process involving insertion of counterfeit documents in the National Council of Justice (CNJ) systems.

In the decision that determined the pre -trial detention, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case in the Supreme Court, pointed out that Zambelli left Brazil to avoid serving the sentence.

The minister also cited “concrete risk of criminal recurrence”, noting that the deputy continued to disclose information about the electoral system and question democratic institutions after the conviction.

“The defendant evaded the national territory for the purpose of stealing the application of criminal law,” Moraes recorded in the order.

Minister Alexandre de Moraes ordered the inclusion of Zambelli’s name in Interpol’s red diffusion list, a mechanism that authorizes prison in any country and extradition request to Brazil.

It was also determined to block all passports on behalf of the deputy, including the diplomatic, and the unavailability of assets, bank accounts, investments, vehicles, real estate, vessels and aircraft.

The blockade of assets aims to guarantee the payment of the fine imposed and ensure the minimum deposit of $ 2 million for damage caused.

Moraes also called for restrictions on the use of social networks by Zambelli. Internet platforms were instructed to protect the content published by the parliamentary and to provide the Supreme Court data from all accounts linked to it.

In the House of Representatives, the payment of arbitral clause and any parliamentary benefits, with the allocation of funds retained to the full settlement of the judicial fine, was suspended.

In an interview with GloboNews studio I, the Brazilian ambassador in Rome, Renato Mosca, said the Italian court accepted Interpol’s red diffusion request, which enables immediate imprisonment in public places.

“It is evident that there is a mobilization to determine the deputy because she is on Interpol’s red diffusion list. Italian judicial authorities have accepted the request and today [ontem]it can be arrested at any time, ”said Mosca.

The case that resulted in the condemnation of Zambelli had as a co -in hacker Walter Delgatti Neto, sentenced to eight years and three months in prison.

Both were held responsible for 13 system invasion crimes and 16 ideological falsehood. Among the documents included irregularly in the CNJ were release permits and fake arrest warrants, including an alleged warrant against Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

The case began with an investigation by the Federal Police on attacks on electronic systems that store court decisions. The Supreme Court concluded that Zambelli and Delgatti acted in a coordinated manner to insert fraudulent court orders, with the intention of changing proceedings.

The rapporteur of Minister Alexandre de Moraes thought that the evidence collected in digital expertise and witness testimonials corroborated the direct participation of the deputy.

Zambelli’s defense stated in a statement that it will appeal the decision to the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) and the STF itself, alleging nullities in the process and lack of sufficient evidence for the conviction.

Lawyers also requested provisional guard of political rights and the release of assets blocked to fund defense fees. To date, there has been no official demonstration of Italian authorities on habeas corpus requests or diplomatic appeal.

With the inclusion of Zambelli in Interpol’s red diffusion list, Brazil reinforces international cooperation in compliance with judicial judgments. Preventive arrest remains in force while awaiting extradition and proceedings. The Veneto operation continues under coordination of Italian security agencies, in articulation with the Brazilian Embassy in Rome and the Ministry of Justice.
