Israelis confirms attack in Doha, who aimed at leaders from the Palestinian group. Government of Qatar, who acts as mediator of a ceasefire in the war in Gaza, denounces attack as “violation of all international laws.”

Israel launched an unprecedented attack on members of the Hamas Group in Doha, Qatar, while negotiations on the end of the War in the Gaza strip remain stagnant.

“The Army and the Israeli Internal Security Agency [Shin Bet] They performed a targeted attack on high -ranking leaders of the terrorist organization Hamas, ”said Israel’s defense forces (FDI). A military officer confirmed the operation in Doha, called“ fire summit ”, and said it was performed by air bombing.

Witnesses said they heard several explosions in Doha. Clouds of smoke climbed from a gas station, next to which there is a small residential complex that housed Hamas members and negotiators in Qatar.

One hour after the attack, ambulances and at least 15 police and unidentified government vehicles occupied the streets around the explosion site.

Hamas sources reported that the group authorities that make up the ceasefire negotiation team survived the attack.

This has been the second time that Qatar, where Hamas has been in a political basis for many years, has been directly hit in the nearly two years of the War that plagues the Middle East since the Hamas attack south of Israel on October 7, 2023, even though it acted as one of the main negotiators in the efforts to end the conflict. Previously, a US military base in the country had been the target of an attack by Iran.

Qatar condemns attack as “coward”

Israeli military spokesman Colonel Avichay Adraee said the attack was carried out by his country’s Air Force. Israeli authorities heard by the Reuters news agency said the bombardment targeted Hamas’s leading leaders, including Khalil Al-Hayya, Gaza’s exile leader and the group’s main negotiator.

The Qatar, which acted as a mediator alongside Egypt in negotiations for a ceasefire during the nearly two years of the war in Gaza, condemned the action as “coward.” Catari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari criticized what he called the “flagrant violation of all international laws and standards”.

Qatar “will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behavior and the continuous disturbance of regional security, nor any act that aims at its security and sovereignty,” added Al-Anari.

Israel expands interventions in the Middle East

Israeli attacks have killed several Hamas leaders since the terrorist attacks of October 2023, who killed 1,200 people, plus 251 others who were taken hostages by the Islamists.

Israel’s retaliatory offensive in Palestinian territory killed more than 63,000 people, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas.

Since the beginning of the conflict in Gaza, Israel has also carried out air attacks and other military actions in Lebanon, Syria, Iran and Yemen.

In Lebanon, the Israeli forces fought the Hezbollah Islamist group, and in Yemen launched bombing against the Houthis rebels. The two groups, which are supported by Iran, also attacked Israel during the conflict in Gaza.

Tuesday’s attack may represent a serious, if not fatal blow to the efforts to reach a ceasefire, especially to have been held in the country that hosted several rounds of negotiations.
