This Saturday, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner gave a master class in Mexico, for the National Institute of Political Formations. The seminar was promoted by the ruling party that is currently headed by the current president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) and the president-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardowho will take office on October 1.

After a week of silence in the face of the Venezuelan presidential elections, CFK used this space to make her position public.

I fully agree with the statement signed by AMLO, Lula Da Silva and Gustavo Petro on August 1st.. I believe that responsibility in international relations is vital, beyond likes or dislikes. But also I want to be precise, between August 1st and August 3rd, I heard the head of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Venezuela read the results of the vote count.. We all know, because the CNE, which is a constitutional power, reported that it had been hacked and therefore did not have the minutes to publish them.”

And then he emphasized: “I asknot only for the Venezuelan people, for the opposition, for democracy, but For the sake of Hugo Chavez’s own legacy, publish the minutes. So that everyone can scrutinize, international public opinion, the opposition and the people of Venezuela.”

However, CFK did not make a single mention of the violent repression unleashed by the Nicolás Maduro regime on the protesters.. Following the wave of protests on Monday, July 29, the Venezuelan government launched a repressive offensive, mainly in popular areas of Greater Caracas and the rest of the country.

The lack of any mention of this repressive response by the Venezuelan regime, which resulted in several protesters being killed, contrasts with the speech given by Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who urged the construction of “peace” during the talk.

On the other hand, CFK rightly denounced the democratic demagogy of the right, both in Venezuela and Argentina. The “democratic mushrooms”, she called them, in reference to the fact that they appear out of nowhere after the rain. Thus she recalled the role of the Venezuelan right in the coup d’état of Hugo Chávez, known as “Carmonazo”. And also the denialist discourse of the last civil-military dictatorship supported by the government of Javier Milei and Victoria Villarruel, whose deputies visited Argentine genocidaires sentenced to life imprisonment for crimes against humanity in prison. She also recalled that in 2019, during the government of Mauricio Macri, with Patricia Bullrich as Minister of Security, they sent weapons for the coup d’état in Bolivia, against Evo Morales.

It should be noted that the violent repression unleashed by the Maduro regime on the Venezuelan people and, even more seriously, the people killed in the context of repression, are events that also fall within the violation of human rights.

Capitalism, the most efficient system

Cristina focused her speech on the ideals of freedom, equality, justice and peace, founders of the democratic-capitalist regimes. And He again claimed that the capitalist production system was “the most efficient form of production of goods and services, so far, in terms of results and successes”in order to meet the needs of humanity on a global scale.”

Despite being an economic and social system that has generated, since its beginnings and increasingly, great social inequalities, exploitation, environmental destruction and wars. The exact opposite of the ideals that framed his master class.

However, he did address the problem of the lack of “equality” and environmental problems, suggesting that the State should lead the economic process, as in China.

“The economic process must not only provide profitability, but must also generate inclusion, because otherwise it is impossible to sustain it politically. And it must also generate environmental protection. Something that the market does not do, but not because it is bad, but because it does not have the responsibility to lead the State,” he proposed. And he illustrated: What does Elon Musk care about the environment? He wants lithium. And we can’t ask Elon Musk to care about the environment or to care about inclusion either.“.

It is precisely the “soft statism” model, which we see failing today, in the face of the liberal sirens of Javier Milei. During the Kirchnerist governments (and not to mention during the Frente de Todos), was not reversed the matrix dependent on Argentina, nor the consequences of the neoliberal transformations in the economy or in labor rights, which were imposed in the Menem decade. Even more so, with the boot of the International Monetary Fund (which Kirchnerism did not bring about, but which did validate the payment for this scam), a favorable outcome for the working people and the popular majorities becomes impossible.

Once again, CFK shows a more right-wing turn in her discourse, which calls for an economic system based on private property, exploitation and the destruction of the planet, and which is leading to new wars between States; while she cannot present any concrete alternative to end the evils that capitalism itself engenders.
