This Wednesday, October 22, the Left Front and Workers-Unity (FIT-U) calls for a campaign closing event in front of the United States Embassy in Buenos Aires! We share with you 5 reasons to join and be part of a day that can make a difference

1. Denounce imperialist interference and Milei’s colonial pact with the United States

The event in front of the US Embassy is no coincidence: it is held in the symbolic heart of imperialist power, to denounce the Milei agreement with the US Treasury and the IMF, which deepens the dependency and adjustment on working people. The left is the only force that stands without half measures against foreign interference and the plundering of our resources, raising an alternative of political independence and popular sovereignty.

2. Strengthen the only consistent opposition to the adjustment and the regime’s pacts

While the Milei government and its Peronist and radical allies advance with adjustment laws, layoffs, tariffs and cuts in health and education, the FIT-U was the only force that did not vote for any of these laws and that was always in the streets alongside those who fight. Participating in the event is giving support to the fight for new deputies to defend the interests of workers, retirees, women and young people, and not to sell or negotiate with the powerful.

3. To support the cause of the Palestinian people

The event will also be a cry of solidarity with the Palestinian people, victims of a genocide endorsed by the Argentine government and imperialism. The left has been promoting mobilizations, talks and campaigns in support of Gaza, demanding the end of the blockade and the cessation of state complicity with Zionism. The Palestinian cause is a flag of internationalist struggle and this Wednesday we are going to raise it high.

4. Defend the achievements of the women’s and dissident movement

In a context of worsening machismo and attacks on won rights, the FIT-U is the only force that has feminist and diversity leaders on its lists, and that defends every right of women and dissidents on the streets. The event will be a space for the voice of combative feminism to be heard that does not resign or retreat from the reactionary advance.

5. Build a political alternative

The closing of the campaign is much more than an electoral event: it is a meeting point for those who want to build a political force of youth, workers and those who resist. It is the opportunity to add your voice and your body to an organization that is committed to unity in struggles, active solidarity and to imagine a socialist society, without exploitation or oppression.
