The presidents of Brazil and France discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, especially cooperation in the areas of defense, science and technology, and trade, as well as issues on the global agenda.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, met this Thursday afternoon (19/2) on the sidelines of the Summit on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence, in New Delhi.

The two leaders discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, especially cooperation in the areas of defense, science and technology, and trade. They also talked about cross-border integration and joint efforts to combat drug trafficking, illegal mining and other forms of transnational crime on the border between Amapá and French Guiana.

The presidents highlighted the record trade exchange of 10.3 billion dollars in 2025, recognizing that the result still remains below the potential of the two economies.

Presidents Lula and Macron also addressed issues on the global agenda, such as peace, security and artificial intelligence. In this context, President Macron invited President Lula to participate in the G7 Summit in Evian, to be held on the 15th and 16th of June.
