This Tuesday, December 30, hundreds of workers from SUTNA (Single Union of Argentine Tire Workers) mobilized the Ministry of Labor within the framework of a fight plan that has escalated in recent weeks. The protest arises in response to a year of salary freezes, a situation that generated a “rout from the grassroots” with strikes and highway cuts.
The day of protest included a 25-hour strike that began this Monday and will end this Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
Thus, the workers gathered from 2:00 p.m. on Avenida Alem at 600 to express their rejection of the business position that refuses to reopen the joint ventures.
SUTNA denounced the failure of the last virtual joint hearing, held on December 26. The union formally accused the companies Fate, Pirelli and Bridgestone of exercising “deliberate delays” and “bad negotiating faith”, also pointing out the failure to present the accounting balances required in the negotiation.
Myriam Bregman accompanied the mobilization: “We are accompanying the workers of Fate and SUTNA, who are mobilizing to the Ministry of Labor of the Nation to protest against the salary freeze that the employers have imposed for a year, violating the collective agreements and current labor legislation.
Companies are preparing for the labor reform that the government wants to impose in February. That is why it is essential that we surround each struggle with solidarity, uniting the fights and coordinating them so that this enormous attack on the rights of workers does not happen.”
