Something beautiful seems to be developing between the Cardano network and Ripple. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has previously praised XRP and the underlying ecosystem.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse also said that the interest is mutual. During a recent ‘ask me anything’ session, Hoskinson revealed some notable tidbit: he is open to integrating Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin onto the Cardano network.

By making RLUSD available on Cardano, Ripple is expanding its stablecoin ecosystem to an additional blockchain. Currently, the digital coin is only available on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and the Ethereum (ETH) network. However, it did not stop at possible expansions with the stablecoin; Hoskinson also discussed Ripple’s possible role within Midnight (NIGHT), a privacy-focused sidechain of Cardano.
According to Hoskinson, both teams are already discussing the technical details of a collaboration. Although official collaborations usually take time, Hoskinson is optimistic about the prospects. He sees great opportunities in the joint power of the Cardano and Ripple ecosystem.
Bitcoin usage
In addition to a possible collaboration with Ripple, Hoskinson also talked about a possible Bitcoin (BTC) bridge earlier this month. Through a mysterious X-post with a cryptographic hash, he sowed rumors about a decentralized finance (DeFi) integration with Bitcoin.
Experts, including X user RealJohnSanti, suspect that this is a zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) bridge between Cardano and Bitcoin. Such a bridge could position Cardano as a DeFi layer for Bitcoin, revolutionizing the sector. Previous announcements indicated that Cardano has ambitious plans to bring DeFi to BTC. If this actually comes to fruition, it could have major implications for both BTC and ADA investors.
