President Trump is trying to punish US universities for not repressing demonstrations that oppose the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel.

Harvard University announced on May 23 that it is processing the White House for what it called “clear retaliation” against the school for “exercising its rights of the first amendment” after the government prohibited the enrollment of international students.

US President Donald Trump tried to punish colleges and universities where student protests against Palestinian genocide in Gaza by Israel took place.

International students are a great source of income for many US colleges and universities.

On Thursday, Trump blocked Harvard’s ability to enroll international students, requested that Harvard’s international students records be supplied within 72 hours and said that those currently enrolled should transfer to another school or leave the country.

“Revocation continues a series of government actions to retaliate Harvard for our refusal to give up our academic independence and submit to the illegal statement of federal government control over our curriculum, our faculty and our student body,” Harvard President Alan Garber said in a statement.

Garber wrote that the university will also file a motion for a temporary restriction order to prevent administration from taking any other action against school.

The process states that the “decision to cancel the administration certification causes immediate, continuous and irreparable damage to Harvard”.

Harvard asked the court to prevent the White House from implementing or maintaining the ban.

The Secretary of Internal Security, Kristi Noem, accused universities of allowing pro-Palestinian protests of “fostering violence, anti-Semitism and coordination with the Chinese Communist Party on their campuses.”

The White House has made repeated allegations of anti-Semitism to repress pro-Palestinian student movements in university campuses, although groups of Jewish students played a role in organizing protests by Gaza.

In March, Trump began an effort to pursue and deport foreign students involved in the protest movement.

A Syrian student named Mahmoud Khalil, one of the leaders of the pro-Palestinian student manifestations at Columbia University campus, was the first to be arrested and face deportation.

“We know that there are more students at Columbia University and other universities in the country who have been involved in pro-terrorist, anti-Semitic and anti-American activities,” Trump said in a message on social networks.

US Jewish religious leaders have pressured legislators to restrict freedom of expression and make university campuses expressions they consider anti -Semitic, including criticism of Israel.
