The historical acquisition coincides with the growing efforts of Western governments and social media platforms to silence and pursue Israeli genocide critics of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

On March 18, Google Controlling company, Alphabet, announced plans to purchase the Israeli cloud security startup in a $ 32 billion agreement, marking one of the largest influential of ex-intelligence Israeli-US technology company.

“Google LLC has announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Wiz, Inc., a leading cloud-based lead-based platform in New York for $ 32 billion, subject to closing adjustments, in a fully cash transaction,” said the US technology giant on Tuesday.

Western media reports indicate that after acquisition, Wiz will maintain its brand and operate regardless of Google. In addition, an extra retention bonus will be offered to employees, potentially totaling $ 1 billion, along with a termination rate Google should go to Wiz if antitrust regulators block the deal.

The Israeli technology company was founded in 2020 by four former Member of the 8200 unit.

Wiz employs about 1,995 people, with most of its sales and marketing staff located in North America and Europe. However, most of their engineering team are based in Tel Aviv, a large cyber security talent center, especially linked to UNIT 8200 alumni.

A 2018 study cited by Haaretz estimated that 80 percent of the 2,300 people who founded the 700 Israeli cyber security companies at the time came through the intelligence of the Israeli army. Two years earlier, Forbes estimated that more than 1,000 companies were founded by alumni of Unit 8200.

“There are at least five technology companies started by alumni of the 8200 publicly traded unit in the US, being together about $ 160 billion. Private companies started by former 8200 soldiers are worth more billions,” said Wall Street Journal (WSJ) last year.

“Although the alumni of unit 8200 have already talked about their services in a low tone, they now publicize them in press release to attract customers and investment money to their startups,” the report says.

As an integral part of Israel’s intelligence apparatus, unit 8200 conducts signal intelligence (Sigin) and cyber operations, emphasizing advanced technology, cyber security and intelligence collection.

Unit 8200 played a crucial role in the planning and execution of Israel’s Page Terrorist attacks in Lebanon last year.

Specifically, western security sources revealed that the unit was involved in the incorporation of explosives within the Hezbollah pagers, with the operation allegedly taking more than a year to be planned.

The Israeli spy unit is developing a chatgpt -like artificial intelligence tool (AI), which is “able to answer questions about the people who are monitoring and provide insights on the huge volumes of surveillance data that collects.”

“It is not just about preventing shots, I can track human rights activists, monitor Palestinian buildings in the area [da Cisjordânia]. I have more tools to know what each person in the West Bank is doing, ”said an informed source to The Guardian earlier this month.
