The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and the president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, held a conversation this Tuesday about the “political context of the Valencian Community”, in which they agreed on “the need to provide stability” to this territory, as sources from the national leadership of the PP have confirmed to Europa Press.
The conversation takes place a day after Carlos Mazón announced his resignation as president of the Generalitat Valenciana and the PP has expressed its willingness to look for a replacement to take over, a step that requires the support of Vox. This same Monday, Feijóo asked Vox to be “up to the task” and “facilitate as soon as possible” the election of the new president of the Generalitat, since, as he said, the “most urgent” political task continues to be the reconstruction of the Valencian Community after the damage.
From Genoa they have assured that today’s call between Feijóo and Abascal has been “cordial and in good tone” but “no names have been put on the table for a new investiture,” the same sources have added.
The Valencian PP and Vox “will begin contacts to reach an agreement for a new investiture, consistent with the agreements signed in May between both parties for the approval of the current budgets,” while the national leadership of the PP “will follow up on these conversations, according to party sources.
