Ethereum (ETH) has gained a strong foothold on Wall Street in recent years. The blockchain network is increasingly being embraced by major players in the financial world. With the launch of a new website, the Ethereum Foundation is now also focusing on this institutional market.

Van stablecoins tot tokenized assets

The Ethereum Foundation, the non-profit organization behind the Ethereum network, announced the launch of ‘institutions.ethereum.org’ this week in a post on social media platform

“Ethereum is the neutral and secure foundation upon which global financial value comes on-chain. Today we are launching a new website for the builders, leaders and institutions driving this global movement forward,” it said

The site was developed by the foundation’s Enterprise Acceleration team. It acts as a kind of guideline for companies that want to make the transition from traditional finance to a digital infrastructure on the blockchain.

The website is sleek and immediately shows what Ethereum has to offer for the financial world. The focus is on stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) and decentralized finance (DeFi). These are all applications that are receiving increasing attention from institutional parties.

According to figures from the foundation, 75 percent of the global RWA market, 65 percent of all DeFi value and 60 percent of the stablecoin supply now runs on Ethereum.

There are already plenty of big names active. For example, Visa processes more than $1 billion in stablecoin payments annually, BlackRock manages more than $1.1 billion in tokenized funds, and Coinbase’s scaling network Base now has more than $15 billion in tied up assets.

Knowledge base for institutions

In addition to figures and applications, the site also offers a knowledge center for financial professionals. Visitors will find live market data, research reports and practical examples from companies that already work with Ethereum. The foundation aims to close the gap between traditional investors and the fast-growing blockchain world.

The Ethereum Foundation sees education as a key to adoption. Earlier this year she launched Etherealize, a program that helps institutions with training and knowledge sharing around blockchain technology.

Accelerating adoption and innovation

The new site is part of a broader strategy to accelerate professional adoption of Ethereum. In addition to education, the foundation is working on improved privacy and scalability features under the name Privacy Stewards of Ethereum. A special research team is also building a decentralized AI infrastructure on the network.

“Our mission: to make Ethereum the layer of choice for settlement and coordination within the AI and machine economy,” said Ethereum Foundation researcher Davide Crapis via X.
