The Ethereum (ETH) network processed more transactions last Friday than ever before. Despite this record crowd, the network remained remarkably stable and efficient. A sign that recent updates and the rise of layer-2 solutions are paying off.

Trading activity on Ethereum reaches new high

In just 24 hours, the Ethereum network processed a whopping 2,885,524 transactions. That is an absolute record. Where previously problems such as high costs or delays often arose during such peaks, this time the network remained remarkably quiet.

Network activity actually declined in the last months of 2025, but showed a strong recovery from mid-December. That recovery now culminates in this new transaction record.

Ethereum works more efficiently through updates and layer-2 networks

In the past, high network activity quickly led to higher costs. But this time it remained cheap to make transactions, indicating more efficient processing thanks to technological improvements. The combination of recent updates and the increased use of layer-2 networks seems to play an important role in this.

Also striking: the queue to “unstake” Ethereum has now practically disappeared, while the queue to stake has increased to about 44 days. That suggests that users prefer to leave their ETH, indicating trust in the network. The strike mechanism therefore appears to be more stable than ever.

All in all, Ethereum appears to be more resilient to taxes than in the past. For developers and investors, this is an important confirmation of technological progress.

Ethereum price suddenly drops by 4.5 percent

The Ethereum price remained stable for days, but fell last night. In an hour and a half, the price fell from $ 3,347 to $ 3,195. A significant correction of 4.5 percent.

An important cause is the increasing tension between Europe and the United States. The US president is considering imposing additional trade tariffs on countries that have sent military troops to Greenland. Donald Trump wants to include the Danish area with the US and does not rule out military action.
