Tesla CEO and tech billionaire Elon Musk is richer than ever. According to the latest calculations, Musk now has a fortune of almost $348 billion. He reached that unprecedented amount after Tesla’s stock exploded following Donald Trump’s election victory.
And he was also helped by a $50 million capital round for his AI startup xAI, which is now said to be valued at $50 billion.
Elon Musk is getting richer and richer
The previous peak of his wealth was $335 billion, reached on November 12. Over the past two weeks, almost one billion per day has been added to his wealth.
Since the beginning of the year, this has now increased by 52%, amounting to an unprecedented amount of $119 billion.
This means Elon Musk is now worth $80 billion more than the number two on the list, his good friend and Oracle chairman Larry Ellison, who has a fortune of $235 billion.
Tesla shares climbed 3.8% to $352.56 on November 22. This means that the car company’s share price has almost doubled in the past six months and is still only 15% away from its all-time high.
That record price is $407 and was reached three years ago in November 2021.
What does Elon Musk’s portfolio look like?
Elon Musk’s wealth mainly comes from his 13% share in Tesla, which is worth $145 billion. He also owns 42% of SpaceX, which at current valuations is worth $210 billion.
His net worth could climb by another $18 billion as SpaceX plans to raise an $18 billion capital round at a $250 billion valuation.
Not long ago, Musk of course bought Twitter and changed the name to X. Now he also seems to be hinting at taking over MSNBC, a traditional news party.
He has been relatively quiet about Bitcoin lately, but Tesla and SpaceX both still own hundreds of millions of dollars worth of BTC. In that respect, he also seems to believe in the future of Bitcoin.
