With a statement that is already circulating on social networks, hundreds of artists, journalists, activists, leaders of the women’s movement and sexual diversity, demonstrated this Wednesday in support of the candidacy of Myriam Bregman, who heads the list of the Left Front as Buenos Aires candidate for National Deputy.

The actresses Monica Antonopolos, St. Ana and Laura Paredes; musicians and singers like Lula Bertoldi and Julieta Laso; writers and journalists like Selva Almada, Soledad Ferrari, Estefania Santoro, Liliana Daunes, Sol Fantín and Cristina Lobaiza; references of feminism such as Martha Rosenberg, Olga Cristiano, Mabel Bellucci, Claudia Korol, Danila Zuárez Tomé; body diversity activists like Brenda Mato; authors and comedians like Flor Alkorta and Marina Castilloare some of the hundreds who subscribe the text that can be read in full below and signed HERE.

There they state: “We know that he is always there: in every march, every handkerchief, fighting against adjustment, repression and impunity, accompanying retirees, health workers, teachers, precarious youth, sexual diversity; betting on uniting all struggles and raising our voices against the genocide in Gaza, while others remain silent.”

In their text, the references and activists, among whom are also several members of the National Campaign for the Right to Abortion, Abya Yala Feminists, Mujeres que No Fuen Tapa, Las Azucenas, Marabunta, the Popular Front Darío Santillán Corriente Plurinacional and several others, also affirm that “Myriam is part of the movement that conquered legal abortion, that installed the cry of Not One Less against femicides, which demands the separation of the Church from the State. Both on the street and when it was her turn to be a deputy, she raised those flags high and confronted Javier Milei from the first moment, denouncing his hate speeches against feminism and the LGTBIQ+ movement, defending every right we achieved in the streets, without turning around, raising her voice when others remain silent.

“Myriam is coherence and commitment, that is why we want her to occupy a seat in Congress again and we call for supporting her candidacy as part of the lists of the Left Front,” they maintain, and emphasize that “Myriam is one of us.”

This Tuesday, at the 911 Cultural Center, some 400 activists and leaders gave substance to that declaration.
