Bitcoin (BTC) is cautiously recovering today, wiping out a small portion of yesterday’s heavy blow. A speech by American President Donald Trump in Switzerland has given the market some breathing space, but the $90,000 still appears to be a difficult obstacle. Ripple (XRP) has already managed to fight its way to green numbers again.
In this price update we will tell you exactly what the current state of the crypto market is.
BTC in battle with ‘first hurdle’
After six red days in a row, the worst series since last summer, the bulls are finally asserting themselves again.
Just after midnight, Bitcoin reached its lowest price since January 1 of around $87,800. Around 7 o’clock the $90,000 was raised again, but here the sellers took over again.
A new low was set in the early afternoon, this time slightly higher at $88,200. After that, Bitcoin went back to the $90,000 mark.
Around 2:30 p.m., Trump began his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos. In particular, his statement that the United States does not want to use force to take over Greenland has caused much relief among investors.
At the same time, the European Union has decided to suspend the previously reached trade agreement with the US.
The Bitcoin price peaked at $90,300, but is now back below $90,000. “Work to be done,” wrote the Dutch analyst Jelle.
”There are two major levels to reclaim. $90,000 is the first hurdle; getting back up there today would be a strong start.
The zone around $93,000–$94,000 remains the main target. Above that, $100,000+ is back on the menu.”
For now, there is little point in looking beyond the $90,000 mark, as it appears to be quite a challenge to stay above this level again.
At the time of writing, the BTC price is at $89,605, 1.42 percent lower than 24 hours ago. In euros, 76,520 are now paid for the largest crypto.
Green numbers on XRP and Solana
Ethereum (ETH) is in a slightly worse position today than Bitcoin, as has been the case all week. The altcoin leader is 2.15 percent cheaper than yesterday and is trading just below $ 3,000.
XRP and Solana (SOL) are again in the green. XRP is up 0.75 percent and Solana is up 0.58 percent. Bitcoin Cash (BCH), the eleventh largest coin, even made a nice gain of 3.01 percent.
