More and more congratulations are coming in for Donald Trump. Although the magical limit of 270 electoral votes has not yet been reached, it seems that the presidency cannot go wrong for the Republican.
This morning you have already read that the Bitcoin (BTC) price has benefited enormously from developments in the United States – and has even reached a new all-time high. However, many altcoins are still doing many times better than the crypto king. Who stands out?
BTC price shoots past $75,000
First the Bitcoin price. This is and remains a historic day for the largest crypto on the market. It took 237 days, but Bitcoin broke its all-time high of $73,800 set in March.
The festive moment happened while you were most likely lying on one ear, just after 4 a.m. last night. The price then shot up even further to a peak of $75,400. The old record has thus been surpassed by more than 2%.
Shortly afterwards, the Fox Business news agency declared Trump the winner of the presidential election. The ‘sell the news’ phenomenon has appeared afterwards, as Bitcoin has made a small correction. But a decline is of course not surprising after a rally of almost 10%.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $73,400.
Memecoins take leading role in crypto rally
As usual, Bitcoin is pulling the rest of the market up with it. Many altcoins have risen even more explosively than Bitcoin. Not for the first time, it is the memecoins that are leading the market rally.
Memecoin Goatseus Maximus (GOAT), which was launched by AI language model Terminal of Truths, is the biggest top 100 gainer with a gain of 40.69%. First Neiro on Ethereum (NEIRO) and Dogecoin (DOGE) are also trading high with increases of over 20%.
Other major memecoins such as Dogwifhat (WIF), Popcat (POPCAT) and Brett (BRETT) are also up around 15%. But there are many more altcoins today with similar increases.
Besides Dogecoin, Solana (SOL) is the only other top 10 cryptocurrency that has managed to outclass Bitcoin. Solana is almost 13% higher than 24 hours ago. However, Ethereum (ETH) comes close with a jump of 6.58%.
