Can the XRP price really go to $100? Crypto analyst Bird thinks so. According to him, investors look too much at daily prices and not enough at what the XRP Ledger can actually become. Forget the graphs, says Bird. It’s all about the infrastructure under the hood.

XRP Ledger built for more than quick transactions

XRP runs on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), a blockchain network known for fast and cheap transactions. But according to Bird, the network can do much more than that.

The platform is designed to tokenize real-world assets (RWAs). Think of government bonds, national currencies, gold, silver and even diamonds. Together, those assets are worth tens of trillions of dollars worldwide.

The idea: by putting these assets on the blockchain as digital tokens, they can be traded faster, serve directly as collateral and change hands in near real-time. This provides a completely new form of liquidity.

Tokenization as a driver for the XRP price

Bird’s argument revolves around tokenization: converting traditional assets into digital tokens on a blockchain.

And this is where things get interesting for XRP. The coin acts as a bridge currency between different assets on the network. Built-in liquidity pools allow billions in capital to flow efficiently through the XRPL. If major financial institutions switch en masse to tokenization, the demand for XRP as an intermediary could increase significantly, with direct consequences for the price.

According to Bird, the value of XRP is ultimately determined not by speculation, but by actual use within a tokenized financial system.

Institutional adoption as a big question

The XRPL offers near-instant settlement at a low cost. This is attractive for banks and asset managers, especially now that cross-border payments and digital assets are becoming increasingly important.

Bird’s reasoning is clear. As trillions of traditional assets move to blockchain, an efficient bridge currency is indispensable. And that’s where XRP has a unique position, according to him.

If financial institutions start using the currency on a large scale for the settlement of tokenized assets, the market capitalization could increase significantly. In that scenario, $100 is not a fantasy, but a logical consequence of the scale at which the network operates.

The big question remains whether adoption will actually happen that quickly.
