Yesterday around 4:00 p.m. a fire started in the Pereyra Iraola Biosphere Reserve that grew and is still trying to put out. Already today several areas of La Plata have woken up with ashes in the house due to the impressive fire.
The Pereyra Iraola reserve is one of the largest in Latin America, with great biodiversity and the lungs of the area. The Parque Pereyra assembly, born in the heat of the struggle, has been denouncing that this could happen, with the clearing that both the provincial (Kicillof) and municipal (Mario Secco) governments have been trying to carry out, with works such as reviving the black road or paving the coast, going against the very law that protects the reserve.
