The Chinese government reported that it has already removed more than 3,000 citizens from Iranian territory since the beginning of the military escalation in the region. The operation was coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese diplomatic missions in neighboring countries.
According to Mao Ning, security alerts and evacuation guidelines have been issued since the situation deteriorated. Teams were sent to border posts to provide assistance to evacuees.
The Foreign Ministry also confirmed the death of a Chinese citizen who was hit during clashes in the Iranian capital, Tehran. The government expressed condolences to the family and said the Chinese embassy was offering support to those affected.
Beijing once again recommended that Chinese citizens leave Iran “as quickly as possible” and reinforced the availability of the emergency consular line.
