The Committee for the Protection of Journalists (CPJ), based in New York, verified the murder of at least 186 journalists since October 7, 2023 and at least 90 journalists have been imprisoned by Israel. From the Government Media Office in Gaza informs a larger figure, saying that more than 230 journalists have been killed.
Several international news agencies such as France-Presse (AFP), Associated Press, BBC News and Reuters said they issued a joint statement where they claimed to be “desperately worried” by journalists in Gaza after the situation of mass famine generated by Israel was known.
