Youttuber and Streamer Roy Beszelsen, better known as Royalistiq, is under fire in a new episode of the program Angry. The popular influencer, who has more than a million followers on YouTube, previously launched its own memecoin. With that he managed to make a lot of his fans enthusiastic.
But the dream quickly splashed. Shortly after the launch, the value of the currency plummeted, leaving some followers with considerable financial damage. Angry investigates how things could come to that and asks critical questions about the role of Royalistiq itself.
Royalistiq launches Coin, fans lose thousands of euros
On December 1, 2023 Royalistiq launched the Unopetit Coin, a so -called memecoin “without real utility”, according to his own words. What started as a joke got more serious forms in the days after. In his Discord channel he wrote that it was a “project for the community, through the community”, complete with giveaways and a course that initially rose explosively. But that course plummeted just as quickly as he came up.
The research of angry shows that several young fans, some even a minor, lost considerable amounts. A fourteen -year -old boy says he has invested 1,800 euros in the broadcast. He was then blocked when he asked questions about his loss in the Discord.
Incidentally, the question is whether a 14-year-old should have the opportunity to invest those types of amounts in crypto. Legally you have to be eighteen years old to buy crypto.
Complicated game with wallets and opaque distribution
According to Royistiq, he and a friend had around 20 percent of the coins, which they later “burned” to create scarcity. Nevertheless, blockchaing data show that Roy transferred money to Wallets from Friends, who in turn bought the coin early and sold it at the right time.
One of those wallets achieved 7,500 euros in profit. According to the broadcast, another friend would have earned 3,500 euros. Roy rather denied that someone in his direct circle would have earned more than “a few hundred euros”.
Few answers, many questions
Although Roy was initially open to contact, he eventually withdrew. Questions from the editors about, among other things, the exact profit distribution, his role in the coin launch and the involvement of his friends, remained largely unanswered.
At the same time, the broadcast itself comes with little hard evidence. It remains unclear what exactly happened behind the scenes, and how great the actual damage is for investors. Angry mainly raises broader questions about the responsibility of influencers, especially when their audience largely consists of young people who are vulnerable to financial and psychological risks.
