The American House of Representatives today agreed to treat three important bills on cryptore regulation. That happened a day after an earlier attempt failed by division within the Republican Party.

Second attempt successful

In the new vote, 215 members voted against a motion for and 211 to re -process the bills package. It’s about laws that:

  • Must regulate stablecoins,
  • Must record a market structure for crypto,
  • Developing a Digital Central Bank Munt (CBDC) must limit.

The legislative proposals are part of a broader Republican strategy to guide cryptow legislation by the congress for the summer recess in August.

Internal division and Trump print

It is striking that five Republican members re -voted against, despite political pressure from former President Donald Trump. The day before it was thirteen Republicans who made the mood fail. They were particularly critical of the Stablecoin proposal, the so-called Genius Act, due to the lack of provisions that explicitly prohibit CBDCs.

There is also resistance to the Democrats. They fear that the legislative proposals do not provide sufficient protection against possible conflicts of interest with Trump and requirements adjustments.

Subsequent steps

The approval of the procedural motion means that the house can now proceed to substantive treatment and the submission of amendments. This is followed by moods about the final legislets.

The Genius Act in particular has an eventful process: the proposal rather died in the event of a first vote in the Senate by democratic resistance, but was later assumed.
