On the worldwide day of love, the AEX has a chance to put a new all-time high on the signs. Yet that does not seem to happen at the opening, because the futures indicate a small false start for Europe, while the American futures are flat.
Light decrease for the AEX?
That slight decrease in the AEX could be the result of Donald Trump, who again speculated about import duties for the European Union yesterday.
At the same time we also received good news from the Trump camp. He is in conversation with Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine. That can in theory cause cheaper energy, and of course the troubled European industry is waiting for that.
However, solving that conflict does not seem like something that is in the barrel today or tomorrow. That will undoubtedly go a bit more time. Which does not alter the fact that it is a positive development, which may also solve part of the inflation problems.
Just not a new all-time high
Yesterday the AEX race reached a hair after a new all-time high. Perhaps that will change today. According to the experts (and the futures markets), the Amsterdam stock exchange index must not yet have the Amsterdam Stock Exchange Index.
That could of course change later in the day. After breaking the all-time high at around 950 points, the focus can of course be done on the next milestone for the AEX.
And what milestone is it then?
Then of course it is about the symbolic rate of 1,000 points. If the AEX with that course ended in 2025, there would be a great return. So far, the AEX may write down an increase of 7.72% for the entire year 2025.
