Sparkling time of national politics, elusive at times. Just a fortnight ago, Javier Milei announced, euphorically, “morality as state policy”. In that theatricalization of antagonism that was the opening of ordinary sessions, the president offered something similar to a creed.

That moralization of official discourse had a function: to cover up the wear and tear of an economic scheme which pushes the spread of poverty and unemployment. that encourages a growing industricidiomaking it easier for large and medium-sized businesses to attack the working class with closures and layoffs. It also anchored in the original promise of mileism, the one that came to compensate for the decline of the pre-existing political system.

That vapid story is being torn apart. The first shot against the official discursive armor came from the finger of Manuel Adorni. With a caste arrogance that Menemism would have admired, he dared to conjugate the verb “deslomar” to refer to a luxury trip to New York with his wife. At the same time, another scandal emerged that implicated him, with the travel by private plane to Punta del Este. Occurring in mid-February, it saw the light of day a month later, thanks to the many cracks that run through the ruling party.

Then came the shocking revelations in LibraGatewhich put the president and his sister Karina at the center of the questions. The link between the core of power and the promoters of cryptocurrency appears with powerful clarity. If all the accusations are confirmed, the first president would have incurred an extensive list of crimes. Marcelo Falak summarized them in his daily newsletter: illicit association, passive bribery, negotiations incompatible with the exercise of public office, obstruction of Justice, failure to fulfill the duties of a public official, concealment.

The enumeration -adds the journalist of LetraP– pushes a conclusion: The president meets the requirements to face impeachment. In such a scenario, will his current parliamentary allies support him? What role would the Jaldo and Jalil choose? Who are the false “republicans” of the PRO and the UCR?

In that story of the “war on caste”Milei offered a way out of a deep social unrest. presented a channel to that widespread repudiation to a “policy” that only pushed down the collective standard of living. Today, the dramatic daily life of millions throughout the country is going destroying hope in that original promise that nested among his voters.

The conclusion moves forward. At the end of the day, after talking over each other for two long years, the anti-caste “warriors” turned out to be a clique of careeristseager to use the State for their own benefit.

In the growing government illegitimacy lies the possibility of enhance social resistance to the fierce adjustment underway. Growing, the scandal returns to the weaker Government to push its adjustment agenda; weakens its coercive and repressive capacity.

Esa resistance must be strengthened and deployed from below. From the fight of the university community for salaries and budget. From the fight against closures and layoffs. Since the fight to make March 24 massive, facing both historical impunity and the present adjustment, which finds a multiplicity of accomplices in Peronism and the treacherous leadership of the CGT.

Still Government with low morale it can be confronted more easily.
