Good of caste. More than six minimum pensions cost a room in the hotel where Adorni stayed

The Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, justified the trip of his wife, Bettina Angeletti, on the presidential plane along with the Government delegation, to attend the “Argentina Week” in New York City, United States.

According to the official, “I’m coming to New York for a week to work out; I wanted you to come with me.” A cheeky one. Workers and retirees juggle to make ends meet with several jobs because one is no longer enough.

Asked about his wife’s trip, in an interview on the A24 channel, Adorni stated “My wife was going to travel to New York. In fact, she already had a ticket purchased for February 26 for $5,348 (…) But then there was a change in the trip: from New York I passed through Miami and I wanted her to accompany me.”

Adorni and his wife are staying at The Langham on Fifth Ave, a 5-star hotel located at 400 Fifth Avenue (between 36th and 37th Streets) in Midtown Manhattan, New York. It is located in a privileged area, close to iconic places such as Bryant Park, the Empire State Building and Times Square.

The most expensive room can cost around $1,900 per night. The cheapest are between $540 and $630 per night for the month of March and April. If it is considered that Adorni and his wife stayed in the most expensive room, this is equivalent to more than six minimum pensions as denounced by Myriam Bregman, national deputy of the PTS and the Unity Left Front.

For two years now, the retiree bonus has been frozen at $70,000. According to the Elderly Ombudsman’s Office, in October 2025 a retiree needed more than $1.5 million to cover their basic expenses, while the minimum retirement is $439,672.72 with bonus included.

While retirees choose between eating or buying medicine, Adorni can go on a trip with his wife to a luxurious hotel.
