The government of Javier Miley is going through a moment of contrasts. While celebrating legislative victories in a Congress that negotiates behind the backs of the majorities, social discontent continues to grow in the streets and in the workplace.
The labor reform, the increase in basic consumer prices and salaries that remain at the bottom are the real face of an economic plan that promotes a brutal transfer of resources to the most concentrated sectors. All this occurs with a union bureaucracy that negotiates with the Government while letting the attacks pass, at the same time that sectors of Peronism vote on the premises for deeply regressive laws of the ruling party. That combination fuels a growing anger against a leadership that speaks on behalf of the workers, but ends up guaranteeing the governability of the adjustment, both from Congress and from the leadership of the CGT.
This national scene is not an island. It is part of a world convulsed by imperialist aggressiveness. In the face of attacks from United States and Israel against Iran, Milei It did not take long to ratify its unconditional alignment with Donald Trump, placing Argentina as a pawn on a board of war and global disputes that has nothing to do with the interests of the working majorities.
A necessary debate
To analyze this complex panorama and debate how to intervene politically, we invite you to participate in the Community Assembly of La Izquierda Diario. We will have the presence of the provincial deputy Christian Castillo and Fernando Rosso, host of El Círculo Rojo on Radio Con Vos. The leaders of the PTS-FIT will share an open exchange about the political situation and the challenges that lie ahead.
At a time when the interventions of Myriam Bregman and Nicolás del Caño find a growing echo and increasing support, we know that this progress, by itself, is not enough. Those of us who campaign to fight for these ideas have the challenge of redoubling our efforts to ensure that this adhesion becomes active.
For this adhesion to become active, we need tools. And in that sense, as our multimedia expands its audience and recognition for its journalistic quality, this meeting becomes fundamental. In the face of business journalism, we want to make journalism bigger and more powerful from the struggles of the working class, youth, the women’s movement and all those who face the current reactionary advance.
We don’t invite you just to listen. We want to listen to you. We want to know how you see reality, what you think of our newspaper, how you imagine the path out of the resignation imposed on us: from the political class of the regime to union organizations like the CGT.
Creating community: our antidote to isolation
Why is this community we form so vital? Because the government and The ruling class bets on isolation. Let’s not militate. That we resign ourselves to the individualistic fragmentation that neoliberalism deepened for decades.
Neoliberalism not only impoverished our pockets: it deteriorated social ties, installing the idea that everyone must save themselves. They seek to blur class identity and attack the collective experiences that demonstrate that the organization serves to achieve rights. An example was the fight at the Garrahan Hospitalwhere its workers managed to extract an important salary victory from the government last year.
For us, Creating community is not something minor: it is a strategic task. It is forging spaces of belonging from solidarity and building, in the daily fight, new organizational tools.
The strength of partners
Our greatest strength is independence. When we communicate from the left, we make economic and political power uncomfortable. If we depended on the official guidelines or large advertisers, we would stop being an independent medium.
The Daily Left It is a multimedia that supports an anti-capitalist, revolutionary, socialist and anti-patriarchal perspective. We do not respond to corporations or the parties of the regime. We are sustained by the collective efforts of militants, workers and committed readers.
Maintaining correspondents throughout the country, covering the streets (often facing repression) and producing audiovisual content is only possible with an active community. Your financial contribution is a vote of confidence and political belonging.
Economics is essential. But it’s just the base. We need to build a community where we meet those who do not resign themselves to standing still in the face of the rights that are taken from us.
That’s why, We are waiting for you this March 14 at the assembly. The Daily Left It is not a company or a simple information service: it is a fighting tool of our class. And that tool only has strength if you are an active part of its construction.
