Update XRP rich list: that’s how much XRP you need for top 10%

Anyone who wants to be among the largest XRP owners will need fewer tokens in 2026 than many investors think. New on-chain data shows that a relatively modest amount of XRP is enough to rank in the top ten percent of all wallets. That begs the question: how early are we in this market cycle?

Crypto analyst ChartNerd points to a striking shift in the so-called XRP rich list.

How much XRP do you need to be in the top 10 percent?

To currently be among the richest ten percent of all XRP wallets, only 2,232 tokens are needed. For many investors, that sounds like an achievable threshold. This amounts to several thousand dollars. That is considerably less than many people expect when they think of “big players” within crypto.

The figures mainly show how widely XRP is now spread across smaller wallets. There are millions of addresses, but the vast majority contain relatively small amounts. Only a limited group actually owns many tokens.

It is important to add nuance. One person can own multiple wallets and large exchange addresses often represent thousands of users at a time. The distribution does not say everything about individual investors, but it does provide an indication of the distribution within the network.

XRP distribution points to early market cycle

Anyone who only looks at the XRP price only sees part of the story. The distribution of tokens across wallets can provide insight into where the market is within a cycle.

In an advanced bull market you often see that assets are strongly concentrated among large parties. The threshold to belong to the top ten percent is usually much higher, because early investors and large players have already built up enormous positions.

The fact that the limit for XRP is currently relatively low may indicate that the market has not yet fully crystallized. It suggests that broad diversification is still taking place and that many wallets contain relatively small amounts.

This is more consistent with a build-up phase than with an overheated final phase. In previous cycles, strong price action often only started when accumulation had occurred over a longer period of time.
