This Wednesday the country woke up to a huge attack on the working class. Billionaire Madanes Quintanilla announced the closure of the emblematic FATE tire factory and the intention to leave more than 900 workers on the streets.

For their part, the Buenos Aires police militarized the plant, even shooting rubber bullets and delaying the Secretary General of SUTNA, Alejandro Crespo.

The workers began to enter the company, intending to defend their jobs, at the same time that solidarity began to arrive from different parts of the country and leaders and organizations came to the San Fernando plant to support the workers.

One of the references who referred to the topic early on was Myriam Bregman. The deputy warned that “while the slave labor reform is being discussed, the employers have already begun to apply it, enabled by official discourse and transversal complicity. Therefore, it is not an article (no matter how disastrous it may be), we must tear down that law, which is the legalization of plant closures. The FAL is so that it does not cost them a fortune to do so. You have to be very scoundrel to charge 10 million and vote for this mass dismissal.”
