The labor reform that the Milei Government wants to introduce with the complicity of the governors is a steamroller against the working class. The text was born in the legal studies of large employers’ associations and has the support of the IMF and large international financial capital. The objective is to further enslave millions of male and female employees, making it easier to fire people, make them extremely precarious, impose agreements by company, tie salaries to greater exploitation, cut compensation and attack the right to union organization.

Seeking to achieve this objective, Bullrich leads negotiations with senators and governors of the so-called “dialoguists.” That is, his accomplices. Some of them are within Peronism. The objective of the ruling party is to gather the votes and obtain a half-sanction in the Senate.

An extensive meeting took place this Monday to try to advance that objective. In addition to the former Minister of Security, senators from those complicit blocs were present. Among them the radical Eduardo Vischi and official Peronists such as Carlos Camau Espínola (United Provinces), Flavia Royón (First the Salteños) and Beatriz Ávila (Independencia), among others.

Here the “debate” is reduced to a single point. The funds that the provinces would stop receiving due to the elimination of the Income Tax on companies. This tax is co-participatory, so the provincial districts would stop receiving a figure that, according to estimates, would reach $3 billion. Within the framework of these negotiations, according to what different sources revealed, article 212 of the current project would be left aside, which gave the Minister of Economy the power to arbitrarily set tax benefits, which also impact the provinces.

Faced with this enormous attack against the entire working class, the CGT’s response has been moderation. Bet, like the governors, on achieving a negotiation. For this objective, he called for a march this Wednesday the 11th, but he did so without calling for a national strike. That is, limiting the possibility that those who work can participate in the mobilization. Although there are unions that call for a stop and will mobilize, the call for an active general strike, as part of a fighting plan, is what would have strengthened the fight.

Combative unionism and the left have been raising for months the need for an active national strike that would guarantee a massive mobilization capable of surrounding Congress and preventing the progress of this reform. This Wednesday they call for mobilization from 12 noon and they will participate with an independent column of the concentration called for the CGT. But, in addition, they will propose an event with an open microphone at 6 p.m., so that the anger of those leaving work is also present in the complaint.
