If businessmen and security forces harass Lustramax’s struggle, solidarity grows on the other side. In the last few days there were activities in the camp, a visit from union delegations and a Workers’ Meeting is being prepared with organizations from the area and guests from other places.
The Northern Zone coordination table will be the convener, after agreeing on it in a meeting where delegations from Ilva, Praxair, Lustramax, Suteba Tigre, Inti, FF.CC participated. Mitre, Secco, Georgalos and Mondelez (Ag. Bordo), CAT, Rioplatense, FOL, Popular High Schools, Colectivo Reagrupando, members of the San Martin Coordinator, PTS, MS, PRC.
This is not an isolated measure, but part of a unity in the struggle that has been going on for some time and had a milestone on December 6 with the first plenary session of the table, where unions and internal unions from the area participated, including the Lustramax workers. The commitment was “touch one, touch all” and it is being fulfilled.
Since the fight began, the table met at the doors of the company in conflict to vote for solidarity actions, carried out a caravan, accompanied hearings at the Ministry of Labor, participated in flyers in Fate and Frigorífico Rioplatense, donated 300 thousand pesos and different organizations that are part of the table and also made donations or collections in their factories, such as the workers of Bettime, those of Linde-Praxair who took up a collection and raised 500 thousand pesos, those from Mondelez who also contributed 500 thousand pesos in merchandise, those from the FOL-Coordinadora por el Cambio Social, donated merchandise.
What moves them is not only class solidarity but the conviction that Lustramax is a witness case in the fight against labor reform. For this reason, this Saturday’s Meeting is to continue betting on regional coordination but in this case also on the need to prepare a great day of struggle, with strikes and mobilizations, from now until the slave project is dealt with.
Unitary Proposal and Call for the Northern Zone Workers’ Coordination Table
WE MUST WIN THE STREETS TO FACE THE SLAVERY REFORM.
NATIONAL STRIKE AND A FIGHT PLAN
Milei seeks to impose a slave labor counter-reform, which eliminates in one fell swoop the rights and achievements achieved by the labor movement over more than a century. It is not modernization but labor slavery.
It is false that this law is going to give blank jobs to those who do not have it today, on the contrary it will make legal the precariousness that millions of workers suffer today. The only beneficiaries will be the capitalists (factory owners, landowners, bankers), many of whom are already anticipating the passing of the law.
The government is buying the governors and business politicians to get it approved, and many business media assume that they will get the votes for its sanction.
It is the working class as a whole that must win the streets, going to the national strike on the day in question, with mobilization throughout the country, and with continuity in a plan of coordinated and increasing actions, the only way to put a stop to this attack against fundamental rights. A sector of CGT leaders are even negotiating with the business chambers, and none of the centers have yet called for measures to confront this attack.
If we workers stop production the world does not work, if they want to advance our living conditions we can confront them. Without workers there are no buses, no garbage collection, no cleaning of the houses of bosses or senators and deputies, no boats move, because everything works with our work.
The CGT and the CTAs must call for a national strike and mobilization on the day the reform is discussed in Congress, and a plan of struggle until the entire slave plan falls. And for that we have to promote it and build it from below, in the struggles, in the spaces of regrouping and in each assembly, plenary session or instance in which it is possible to raise it. They must break into the bases widely, as happened other times in the face of similar threats.
The Oil Workers have already decided to go on strike the day the law is discussed, something that many other labor organizations can and should consider. Other sectors have also been proposing that they should go on strike. If the leaders of the unions do not call for a strike for that day, we must push for the anger to be expressed in the way necessary.
This group of labor organizations has been developing a campaign of solidarity with the struggle of the Lustramax workers, an example of how they can confront the bosses’ attacks that seek to impose the arbitrary dismissal, even of union delegates, even before the law is passed. This struggle, and so many other examples of worker resistance such as ILVA, Granja 3 Arroyos, Sealed Air, Dr Ahorro, among many, need to win and for that they also need measures of struggle such as a general strike.
We call on the entire working class of the northern zone, organizations, leaders and spaces, to promote the broadest unity of action to win the streets against the labor reform, uniting and coordinating efforts with those who share these objectives; as well as for these calls to be replicated in the rest of the country.
We call to meet this Saturday, 1/31 from 4 p.m. at the doors of Lustramax, (United States 4546, Tortuguitas) to surround this witness struggle with solidarity and resolve an action plan for the prompt treatment of the labor reform in the Senate.
Down with the Slave Labor Reform!
General Strike and Fight Plan until we defeat it!
