Ethereum price to 250,000 dollars? Tom Lee makes bizarre prediction

Well-known trader Tom Lee made a remarkable statement about the future of Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC) during an online BitMine shareholder meeting. According to Lee, explosive growth of the Ethereum price is possible, up to $250,000 per coin.

Ethereum price: ‘Explosive growth possible’

Tom Lee, chairman of BitMine, the largest public holder of Ethereum in the world, recently addressed his shareholders. During that presentation, he shared his vision on the future of crypto and mentioned a price target of no less than $250,000 for Ethereum. For comparison, the Ethereum price is currently around $3,220. That would mean an increase of more than 7,660 percent.

According to Lee, this extreme price increase is realistic if Bitcoin becomes worth 1 million dollars in the future. The ETH price could then grow towards a quarter of a million, based on the historical ratio between the two coins.

BitMine buys 104 million worth of ETH

At the same shareholder meeting, BitMine announced that it had purchased an additional 32,977 ETH at the end of 2025, worth approximately $104 million. The company now owns more than 4.14 million ETH. That accounts for about 3.4 percent of the total supply, with an estimated value of $13.33 billion.

Lee calls Ethereum “the future of finance” and points out the important role of the coin within the trend of tokenization. By this he means the conversion of traditional financial products, such as shares or real estate, into digital tokens on the blockchain.

BitMine wants to adjust share structure

Because BitMine’s share price is strongly correlated with the Ethereum price, Lee expects the share to also benefit. If ETH indeed rises towards $250,000, he predicts a price of $5,000 for BitMine shares. That would represent a huge jump from the current $33.

To be prepared for possible growth, BitMine wants to increase the number of authorized shares from 500 million to 50 billion. However, these plans are being criticized by investors, who fear dilution of their shareholdings.
